Job Summary:
The Senior Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing advanced maintenance repair and troubleshooting of facility equipment machinery and infrastructure systems. This role ensures operational reliability safety and efficiency across all mechanical systems supporting facility operations and minimizing downtime. The Senior Maintenance Mechanic provides guidance to junior staff contributes to preventive maintenance programs and assists with planning and implementing system upgrades or repairs.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine and complex maintenance repair and troubleshooting on mechanical systems including HVAC plumbing electrical and general facility equipment.

Inspect diagnose and repair machinery building systems and equipment to maintain optimal performance.

Perform preventive maintenance tasks to extend the lifespan of equipment and prevent unscheduled downtime.

Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities repairs inspections and compliance documentation.

Collaborate with facility management engineers and contractors to plan and execute equipment upgrades or replacements.

Assist in the training and mentoring of junior maintenance staff on proper procedures safety practices and troubleshooting techniques.

Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and operational issues to minimize disruptions.

Ensure compliance with safety standards building codes and organizational policies.

Order maintain and manage spare parts tools and supplies required for maintenance activities.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in mechanical maintenance repair or related technical work ideally in commercial or institutional facilities.

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC plumbing electrical and general machinery.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals schematics and blueprints.

Proficiency with tools diagnostic equipment and maintenance software.

Strong problem-solving troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Physical ability to perform hands-on work including lifting climbing and working in confined spaces.
