Engineer I Postgres Developer and Data Analyst

What Youll do

• Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze large datasets from Amex GBT booking systems and operational workflows

• Create comprehensive reports and dashboards for business customers and management

• Develop benchmarks and metrics to monitor system performance and operational efficiency

• Generate ad-hoc analysis to support business decisions and process improvements

• Database Management & Optimization: Design and optimize complex SQL queries in PostgreSQL for data extraction and analysis

• Maintain data quality and integrity across multiple data sources and systems

• Create and manage data pipelines for automated reporting and analysis

• Perform database performance tuning and query optimization

• Support data migration and integration projects

• AWS Cloud Analytics:

• Apply AWS services for data processing storage and analytics (S3 Redshift Athena QuickSight)

• Implement cloud-based data solutions and automated reporting workflows

• Manage data warehousing solutions and ETL processes in AWS environment

• Monitor and optimize cloud resource usage and costs

• Application Support: Provide analytical support for AMOS application and resolve data-related issues

• Solve data discrepancies and inconsistencies in reporting systems

• Support application testing and validation of data accuracy

• Collaborate with development teams on data requirements and system enhancements

• Document data processes procedures and analytical methodologies

What Were looking for

• Bachelors degree in Technology with minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Analyst or similar analytical role

• Expert-level proficiency in PostgreSQL including complex query writing stored procedures and performance optimization

• Good experience with AWS services for data analytics (S3 Redshift Athena QuickSight Glue Lambda)

• Confirmed experience in application support and data solve

• Advanced SQL skills with ability to work with large complex datasets

• Proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau Power BI or AWS QuickSight)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

• Experience with statistical analysis and data modeling techniques

• Experience in travel industry TMC operations or expense management analytics Knowledge of additional AWS services (EMR Kinesis CloudWatch RDS)

• Programming skills in Python R or similar analytical languages

• Experience with ETL tools and data pipeline development

• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling

• Knowledge of business intelligence and reporting guidelines

• Familiarity with machine learning and predictive analytics

• Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development

• Technical Environment: PostgreSQL Amazon Redshift Amazon S3 AWS Analytics Services: Athena QuickSight Glue EMR

• Data Visualization: Tableau Power BI AWS QuickSight Programming: SQL Python R (preferred)

• Cloud Platforms: AWS ecosystem Version Control: Git GitLab/GitHub

• Strong business acumen with ability to translate data into actionable insights

• Good communication skills for presenting findings to technical and non-technical customers

• Project management skills with ability to handle multiple analytical requests

• Customer service approach with focus on supporting business operations

• Collaborative approach to working with multi-functional teams

• Continuous learning attitude and adaptability to new analytical tools

• Must be willing and able to work in 2nd shifts (3:00 PM IST to 12:00 AM IST) and occasional weekends as required.

• Must be willing to work from Bangalore office location minimum 3 days in a week.
