Job Summary
Transportation and Capital Project Planning Intern (Part-time)
Temp 8 Hourly Rate: $19.63
Work Schedule: up to 29 hours per week in-person during the summer and 1020 hours per week during the academic year with flexibility for in-person or hybrid work
Please note: This is a seasonal part-time position for at least 3 months and a maximum of 10 consecutive months
Role Summary
The Transportation and Capital Project Planning Intern reports to the Planning Specialist in the City of Ann Arbor Downtown Development Authority. The Downtown Development Authority is responsible for public improvement projects that strengthen the downtown and attract new private investments. The DDAs scope and work is explained in the Development Plan which is mid-update.
Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in planning or a related field.
- Strong writing skills.
- Significant project coordination with external stakeholders is also a fundamental part of this position.
- Excellent written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in planning or a related field or currently enrolled in a graduate level program.
Working knowledge of specialty software including GIS Excel Adobe Suite and desktop publishing.
