    SheridanCounty School District No. 2is seeking a positive professional and influential Elementary School Principalto lead our Sagebrush team!

    This positionwill be offered a startingannualsalary of $94500 - $104500 (depending on experience) will receive a 205-day contract and medical/dental family insurance paid in full. The Wyoming Retirement System pension plan requires an 19.12% contribution of an employees total salary; SCSD2 pays 15.19% of this contribution and the employee pays 3.93% of this contribution. Annual paid leave consists of 19 holidays 4 personal days and 10sick position will begin on July 1 2026.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Valid Wyoming Certificate through PTSB
    2. Masters in Education Administration
    3. 5 years teaching experience
    4. Alternatives to the above qualifications may be considered as deemed appropriate and acceptable by the Board.

    REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent

    SUPERVISES: Staff members designated by the Board or the Superintendent

    JOB GOAL: To use leadership supervisory and administrative skills that promote the educational development of each student.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Establishes and maintains an effective learning climate inassignedschool.
    2. Initiates designs and implements programs to meet specific needs of theschool.
    3. Keeps the Superintendent informed of the schools activities and issues.
    4. Makes recommendations concerning the schools administration and instruction.
    5. Prepares and submits the schools budgetary requests and monitors expenditures of funds.
    6. Prepares and/or supervises the preparation of reports records lists and all other paperwork required or appropriate to the schools administration.
    7. Works with various members of the central administrative staff on schoolissues of more than in-school import such as transportation special services etc.
    8. Keeps the Superintendent informed of events and activities of an unusualnature as well as routine matters related to the Superintendentsaccountability.
    9. Interprets and enforces district policies and administrative regulations.
    10. Maintains active relationships with students and parents.
    11. Budgets school time to provide for the efficient conduct of school instructionand business.
    12. Supervises the schools educational program.
    13. Leads in the development determination of appropriateness and monitoring ofthe instructional program.
    14. Programs classes within established guidelines to meet student needs.
    15. Assists in the development revision and evaluation of the curriculum.
    16. Supervises the guidance program to enhance individual student education anddevelopment.
    17. Maintains high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline asnecessary according to due process andrights of students.
    18. Establishes guidelines for proper student conduct and maintaining studentdiscipline in a school handbook.
    19. Attends special events held to recognize student achievement and attendsschool sponsored activities functions and athletic events.
    20. Maintains and controls the various local funds generated by student activities.
    21. Supervises the maintenance of accurate records on the progress andattendance of students.
    22. Assumes responsibility for the attendance conduct and maintenance of health of students.
    23. Keeps abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attendingprofessional meetings reading professional journals and other publicationsand discussing problems of mutual interest with others in the field.
    24. Supervises all professional paraprofessional administrative andnonprofessional personnel associated with assignedschool.
    25. Assists in the recruiting screening hiring training assigning and evaluatingof the schools staff.
    26. Supervises the schools teaching process. Spends time daily observingteachers and their teaching methods. Routinely advises teachers onenhancements and improvements needed.
    27. Approves the master teaching schedule and any special assignments.
    28. Orients newly assigned staff members and assists in their development asappropriate.
    29. Evaluates and counsels all staff members regarding their individual and groupperformance.
    30. Conducts staff meetings to keep members informed of policy changes newprograms etc.
    31. Assists in the training of teachers.
    32. Recommends according to established procedures the removal of a teacherwhose work is unsatisfactory.
    33. Makes arrangements for special conferences between parents and teachers.
    34. Assumes responsibility for the safety and administration of the school.
    35. Supervises the daily use of the school facilities for both academic andnonacademic purposes.
    36. Plans and supervises fire drills and an emergency preparedness program.
    37. Asserts leadership in accordance with established Board policy in times of civildisobedience in school.
    38. Provides for adequate inventories of property under their jurisdiction and for the security and accountability for that property.
    39. Supervises all activities and programs that are outgrowths of the schoolscurriculum.
    40. Supervises and evaluates the schools extracurricular program.
    41. Participates in principals meetings negotiations meetings and such other meetings as are required or appropriate.
    42. Serves as an ex-officio member of all committees and councils within theschool.
    43. Cooperates with college and university officials regarding teacher training and preparation.
    44. Responds to written and oral requests for information.
    45. Assumes responsibility for all official school correspondence and news releases.
    46. Establishes and maintains favorable relationships with local community groupsand individuals to foster understanding and solicit support for overall schoolobjectives and programs; to interpret Board policies and administrativedirectives; and to discuss and resolve individual student problems.
    47. Serves as a member of such committees and attends such meetings asdirected to by the Superintendent.
    48. All other functions as requested by the Superintendent.
