The Department of History at Lafayette College invites applications for a visiting assistant professor with a specialization in the history of modern Europe including Russia and Eastern Europe beginning July 2026. This is a full-time two-year position with continuation into the second year contingent upon a successful performance review. We seek candidates with a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate education to teach three courses per semester including an introductory survey of world history intermediate courses on modern Europe and at least one course per semester that can contribute to the curriculum of our Russian and East European Studies Program.
Located in the Lehigh Valley within 70 miles of both New York City and Philadelphia Lafayette College is a highly selective undergraduate liberal arts and engineering institution with significant resources to support faculty members in their teaching and scholarship.
