Primary Responsibilities:
Logistics Coordination: Arrange timely cost-effective shipping; coordinate with forwarders to determine optimal transport methods; prepare shipping documents and handle customs declarations.
Compliance & Licensing: Research and secure necessary permits licenses and certificates for customs clearance.
External Liaison: Communicate with customs authorities and shipping agents to verify requirements and negotiate rates/timelines.
Operational Support: Provide cost/route analysis for negotiations and respond to internal/external inquiries regarding shipment status.
Administrative Integration: Manage local office supply procurement (e.g. duty stamps) upload invoices to customer portals and ensure physical invoice attachment to parcels. Basware Purchase/Procurement and Coding Administration invoice to approval.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with GFO Procurement Order Management Sales and Service units to ensure end-to-end delivery success and payment verification.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Logistics Supply Chain Management Business Administration or a related field.
25 years of experience in logistics transportation or supply chain operations.
Knowledge of shipping processes customs clearance and international trade documentation.
Experience coordinating with freight forwarders carriers and shipping agents.
Ability to prepare and manage shipping documents (Invoice Packing List Bill of Lading etc.).
Good understanding of import/export regulations and customs procedures.
Strong communication and coordination skills with internal teams and external partners.
Ability to analyze transportation costs routes and delivery schedules.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle shipment delays or logistics issues.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook) and logistics/ERP systems.
Good organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
Good command of English (written and spoken).
