Position Summary
A healthcare facility in Gainesville FL is seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join its rehabilitation team. The Occupational Therapist collaborates with physicians nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide patient-centered therapy services that support recovery improve functional abilities and promote long-term independence.
This role focuses on evaluating patients functional capabilities and developing individualized treatment plans to help patients regain or enhance their ability to perform daily activities.
Responsibilities
Evaluate patients physical cognitive and functional abilities to determine therapy needs
Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
Provide hands-on therapeutic interventions to improve mobility daily living skills and independence
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans to achieve optimal outcomes
Educate patients and families on therapy goals home exercises and adaptive strategies
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations treatments and progress
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
Provide guidance and mentorship to therapy assistants students or other team members when appropriate
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
Current State License as an Occupational Therapist
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (commonly provided through the American Heart Association or equivalent provider)
Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapy experience preferred (new graduates may be considered)
