Job Summary

Guardian Angel Preschool at Saints Mary & Mathias Catholic School in Muscatine Iowa is seeking a hard-working dedicated and energetic educator to serve as a full-time Preschool Teacher. This person must love working with young children and recognize the great responsibility parents entrust to educators to help form their child in mind body and spirit.

Compassion patience and a love for teaching are essential qualities for this role as our school takes great pride in providing a high quality education and experience for its preschool students.

Position Details

This is a full-time position requiring presence at school Monday through Friday from 7:50 AM to 3:20PM.

A full school year is 190 contract days which consists of:

170 student contact days
2 conference compensation days
12 inservice days
6 paid holidays.

The teacher will be responsible for instructing a morning preschool class Monday-Thursday from 8:10-11:10 AM with a maximum size of 20 students. A classroom associate will be present to assist during all instructional time with students.

An afternoon class with identical parameters may also be assigned depending on enrollment. If an afternoon class is not needed the teacher will be assigned other responsibilities within the school.

The teacher does have their own classroom and dedicated storage space to support the many materials needed in a high-functioning preschool classroom throughout the year. Because the success of this position requires close collaboration with a classroom associate strong interpersonal and teamwork skills are highly valued.

Faith Environment

St. Mary & Mathias is a Catholic school. While being a practicing Catholic is not required having a Christian faith background and willingness to lead students in age appropriate exploration of faith is desired.
