About the Role
As a Sociology Teacher you will deliver stimulating lessons that encourage students to explore key sociological theories research methods and contemporary social debates.

Key responsibilities include:

• Teaching Sociology at Key Stage 5 (A-Level)

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons that promote analytical thinking and discussion

• Supporting students in developing research essay writing and evaluation skills

• Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback

• Preparing students effectively for A-Level examinations

• Contributing to curriculum planning and resource development within the department

• Supporting enrichment activities such as debate clubs or academic societies

• Maintaining a positive inclusive and respectful classroom environment

Experience and Qualifications

The successful candidate will:

• Hold a degree in Sociology or a closely related subject

• Possess QTS or PGCE

• Have experience teaching Sociology in a secondary school setting (preferably A-Level)

• Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Social Sciences

• Have excellent classroom management and communication skills

• Be committed to supporting student progress and achievement
