The Role

The school is seeking an enthusiastic technically skilled and organised Performing Arts Technician to support the work of the performing arts department.

This role is essential in ensuring that the departments facilities equipment and productions operate smoothly and safely. The technician will support drama dance and music performances by managing lighting sound staging and technical equipment.

The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to prepare resources for lessons rehearsals and productions while also supporting students in developing their technical understanding of theatre production.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing technical equipment for performing arts lessons rehearsals and productions

• Operating lighting and sound equipment during performances and events

• Maintaining theatre equipment including lighting rigs microphones speakers and staging

• Supporting the safe use and storage of technical equipment

• Assisting teachers and students with technical aspects of productions

• Managing rehearsal schedules and technical set-ups for performances

• Supporting school productions concerts assemblies and other events

• Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures when using technical equipment

• Managing stock and maintenance of technical resources

• Supporting extracurricular performing arts activities and clubs

Performing Arts Department
