Summary:
-
Provide subject matter expertise on nuclear radiation hardness across a portfolio of space programs.
-
Interface with program office representatives and system engineers from other disciplines to address radiation-related concerns.

Ensure unit and system-level designs consider radiation effects including:
-
Total dose
-
Displacement damage
-
ELDRS
-
Single Event Effects (SEE)
-
Internal charging
-
IEMP / SGEMP / TREE
-
-
Perform and document unit- and vehicle-level analyses.
-
Plan and conduct testing at the piece part unit and vehicle levels to verify compliance with radiation requirements.

Coordinate with radiation test facilities nationwide to secure required testing resources
Requirements:
-
SECRET Clearance Required
-
Bachelors 14 yrs Masters 12 yrs or PhD 9 yrs in Engineering Computer Science Physics Mathematics or Chemistry from an accredited institution.

10 years experience in space environments / radiation effects.

Expertise in:
-
Dose rate testing
-
Total ionizing dose testing
-
Displacement damage testing
-
SEE testing of electronics
-
-
Experience in prompt dose analysis of electronic units.
-
Experience with government contracts involving nuclear effects environments.
-
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Preferred Skills:
-
Hands-on experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes spectrum analyzers and network analyzers.

Advanced understanding of space survivability analyses and satellite program requirements.
