Job Description:
Missile Solutions an L3Harris Technologies Company is seeking a Chief Engineer (CE) for Manufacturing Process this role you will represent the engineering team across multiple sites leading the development and implementation of processes and facility design changes.
This role will serve as a leadership figure and design authority across various focus areas. You will be responsible for maintaining adequate resources for all engineering functions in the pursuit of the portfolios strategic goals and operational plans. Additionally you will interface with key team members to ensure alignment of Operations Engineering and Program objectives across multiple locations.
Essential Functions:
- Design responsibility for manufacturing and production processes of Solid Rocket Motors.
- Provide leadership in the design of lean manufacturing layouts and processes to reduce waste improve quality and enhance product flow.
- Develop management control systems alongside program/project managers to facilitate timely outcomes and changes across Solid Rocket Motor Production.
- Provide active input into Change Board Reviews Sprints and Scums to drive outcomes that will affect production across all product lines.
- Work and communicate effectively with all functions at all levels of the organization.
- Evaluate current manufacturing processes and drive improvements for enhancing efficiency.
- Focus on optimizing the use of floor space materials personnel and equipment.
- Collaborate with production planning and management to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Implement cost-reduction measures while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Establish build concepts design buildings and processes spec equipment.
- Develop and support a culture of continuous improvement and best practices.
- Provide Engineer guidance across multiple engineering specialties (Manufacturing Quality Industrial etc.) to meet program requirements and desired outcomes.
- Provide clear coordination and communication of process changes and technical briefs to the internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to address potential project delays or issues.
- Foster a collaborative environment to support problem-solving and innovative solutions.
- Support reviews of any cost estimates for new projects and validate cost models.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Travel: 25%.
- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior manufacturing experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior manufacturing lieu of a degree minimum of 19 years of prior manufacturing experience.
- 10 years of experience leading cross functional engineering teams (including at least one assignment leading a 40 person engineering team) through program lifecycles from proposal to production and sustainment.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active DOD Secret Clearance is desired.
- Bachelors degree in engineering is desired.
- Experience with Solid Rocket Motor manufacturing is highly desired.
- Experience with Cost Account Management experience and/or project management experience is a plus.
