Job Summary

Job Description:

A Head of Quality Control (QC) in a steel manufacturing companyleads all quality assurance and testing operations ensuring products meet API ISO and customer standards. Key responsibilities include managing raw material inspection metallurgical testing NDT and final product certification. They drive continuous improvement manage QC teams handle non-conformances (RCAs) and ensure compliance with technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Management System (QMS):Develop implement and monitor QMS protocols to ensure consistent quality in steel production.
Operational Oversight:Oversee daily testing activities in the laboratory furnace CCM and rolling mill sections.
Compliance and Standards:Ensure full compliance with relevant industry standards such as API 5L API 5CT and ISO 9001.
Testing and Inspection:Manage Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) heat treatment inspections and physical/chemical testing of raw materials and finished products.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA):Investigate product failures non-conformances and customer complaints to develop corrective action plans (CAPA).
Leadership:Train mentor and lead the quality assurance team.
Cross-functional Collaboration:Work closely with production maintenance and engineering teams to enhance product quality and process efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:Bachelors degree in Metallurgical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience:10 years in quality assurance within the steel industry with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Technical Skills:Strong knowledge of steel fabrication welding casting and metallurgical properties.
Tools:Expertise in Statistical Process Control (SPC) NDT techniques and Root Cause Analysis.
Soft Skills:Excellent leadership communication and problem-solving abilities
