Job Description:
Provide detailed inprocess and incoming inspections on flight vehicle composite components machined parts and assemblies using detailed drawings and established processes to verify conformance to manufacturing and design requirements.
Inspect machined parts composite parts and assemblies for dimensional accuracy using precision measuring instruments templates jigs and fixtures.
Visually inspect composite parts and assemblies for voids porosity delaminations and other physical characteristics.
Examine products for compliance with workmanship standards and for proper installation of components hardware and wiring.
Document production nonconformances in accordance with prescribed procedures and processes.
Collaborate with quality engineers to develop inspection requirements and techniques and assist in implementing quality plans.
Review new or modified drawings and/or work instructions for compliance with quality standards and recommend changes as needed.
Assist in evaluating defect data to identify trends and partner with quality engineers to recommend process improvements.
Verify that final inspections and data packages for product shipments are complete.
Essential Functions:
Perform receiving inprocess and final inspections of aviationrelated components and assemblies.
Perform data entry and maintain inspection records nonconformance reports and other quality documentation.
Collaborate with Quality Engineers and Operations to manage daily priorities.
Perform duties in compliance with documented procedures.
Inspect wire harness assemblies and circuit card assemblies in accordance with IPC610 and IPC620.
Witness operational functional tests and review documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; or 2year postsecondary/Associate degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Ability to obtain Secret Clearance (preferred)
Intermediate knowledge and/or experience with GD&T
Basic understanding of aircraft construction and materials
Working ability to use measuring equipment such as calipers micrometers and pin gauges
Basic knowledge of DC electrical circuits and components
