The Quality Specialist will work on-site at a Traffic Management Center (TMC) located in Milwaukee WI. The environment is a technological hub for traffic operations which uses a variety of different technologies and tools for the purpose of enhancing safety and mobility. The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Perform real-time and after-the-fact audits of TMC incidents and events.
- Review and evaluate all audits from the Audit Program.
- Work with and communicate with TMC staff and leadership to correct issues or problems within the team as identified through audit results.
- Recommend improvements and expansion ideas for the TMC Audit Program and Audit Dashboard.
- Collate and present on the number of incidents handled per month by shift and operator.
- Collate and present on how each audited incident was discovered (ex. Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) phone call camera etc.)
- Assist leadership with Standard Operating Procedure review updates and development based on audit results.
- Assist with creating and reviewing training material and modules.
- Research and identify quality and performance measurement best practices at other TMCs. Make recommendations to leadership to incorporate findings.
- Serve as point of contact for major special events including attending meetings developing signing plans in coordination with leadership and communicating / coordinating with team on major special event traffic plans.
- Maintain accurate records.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Perform functions of a TMC Control Room Operator on an as-needed basis to support operations.
- Become Flex Lane certified and maintain certification.
- Attend periodic training and meetings.
- Other duties as assigned by the leadership team.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements
- High School 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Must be US Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous background education and/or experience in a traffic management center traffic operations Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) or related field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate information expectations and feedback to team members
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Attention to detail and strong focus on quality and continuous improvement
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent time management skills
- Capable of multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel PowerPoint Tableau and/or other data analysis and presentation tools.
