What you will be doing
We are seeking an analytical Risk Management Specialist / Risk Analyst to join the Risk Management & Hedging Operations team within Metal Sourcing & Trading (MST) at Norsk Hydros Vækerø office in Oslo.
You will strengthen our risk oversight across aluminium and carbon markets with particular responsibility for trade lifecycle management and the implementation of our European Union Allowance (EUA) hedging portfolio.
MST is responsible for optimizing Hydros global standard ingot portfolio and managing LME aluminium price risk exposure on behalf of the company.
You will:
- Manage the trade lifecycle for LME OTC and EUA transactions
- Monitor risk exposure and contribute to hedging strategies aligned with Hydros net-zero ambitions
- Perform risk assessments stress testing and reporting
- Ensure robust controls compliance and data integrity
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external market counterparties
- Build and refine analytical tools (e.g. using Python PowerBI or machine learning) to streamline trade lifecycle management)
What will make you successful
We are looking for an analytical and structured professional with a strong interest in risk management and commodity markets.
You bring:
- A Masters degree in finance economics business analytics or a related field
- 05 years of relevant experience
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint experience with Python R Power BI GitHub or Azure DeveOps is a plus
- The ability to work accurately under pressure
- Strong communication skills and good command of English
