We are seeking a Telecommunications Designer based remotely in Northern BC (Prince George region preferred) to support ongoing fibre and copper network programs across the region.
This role combines drafting and detailed design responsibilities and requires a technically strong designer capable of working independently while supporting field validation and construction coordination activities.
The successful candidate will contribute to outside plant (OSP) network design site assessments and the preparation of construction-ready documentation supporting regional infrastructure deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed OSP fibre and copper network designs
- Prepare construction-ready drawings and documentation
- Perform drafting and design activities in support of network deployments
- Conduct site visits and field validation to support design accuracy
- Coordinate with internal planners designers and construction teams
- Review and update as-built documentation as required
- Support ongoing network expansion and upgrade initiatives across Northern BC
Qualifications :
- 37 years of telecommunications OSP drafting and design experience
- Experience with fibre network deployments
- Strong understanding of outside plant design principles
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent design software
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Willingness to conduct site visits within Northern BC
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in rural or northern environments
- Familiarity with aerial and underground fibre construction practices
- Experience supporting large-scale network infrastructure projects
