About the opportunity

As part of the Enterprise Project Management Practice Team the Senior Program Manager will partner with the Data and Analytics Division WSV Executive leaders and Strategic Delivery stakeholders to plan and execute on a high profile program of work that supports delivery of WorkSafe Data and Analytics strategy.

The Senior Program Manager is responsible for the planning managing and leading of strategic programs of work for WorkSafe Victoria. You will help set the purpose and direction of the program and will support various work stream leads Project Managers and Directors in the execution of their plans roles and responsibilities.

Working closely with the program sponsor and relevant directors you will be responsible for establishing the program management structures through the program management lifecycle and managing the program to agreed delivery obligations of schedule budget scope quality and risk. You will ensure the linkages between the delivery of the program and the outcomes it will deliver.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a key contribution to the delivery of WorkSafes Data and Analytics strategy involving a longer term program of work that presents truly meaningful work that will positively impact the Victorian community.

In addition you will enjoy working within a strong leadership group and alongside a collaborative group of fellow practitioners.

Key accountabilities:

  • Development of the Program Management Plan outlining the key constructs and approach for program management.
  • Develop and support delivery of business cases and Board submissions where relevant at both program and project level.
  • Responsible for the implementation and management of establishing program governance structures forums and providing clarity on roles and responsibilities to ensure delivery of strategic plans and effective decision-making processes.
  • Develop the integrated master schedule and develop the program resource plan. Manage the overall program schedule and resource plans and monitor project level progress resource plan and schedules.
  • Responsible for financial management of program forecast and budget ensuring accuracy and appropriate commentary and reporting to executive steering committees and board.

About you

You will have extensive program leadership experience leading and driving high profile technology programs within large and complex organisations. Ideally this will include Data and Analytics programs.

You will be an outcomes focused Program Manager who is resilient along with having the skills to lead and champion the program with diverse stakeholders in addition to your ability to influence Executive and Director level stakeholders.

In addition you will have the ability to strongly adhere to professional standards and WorkSafes values whilst remaining committed to the successfully delivery of key objectives.

Additionally you will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Proven track record in technology and business transformation program management.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring.
  • Experience and knowledge of program and project management frameworks and methodologies including agile delivery.
  • Excellent written and presentation skills to explain highly complex concepts and issues to an executive audience.
  • Outstanding working knowledge of change management principles and performance evaluation processes.
  • Ability to produce business cases and project documents and articulate at executive level.
  • Highly adept at influencing and driving a positive team culture whilst maintaining focus on program performance and delivery.
