The ICAO Affairs & Global Aviation Policy team was formed to support Boeings mission to connect protect and explore our world and beyond safely sustainably and efficiently. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced regulatory professional to make a significant impact as a Senior Manager Government Affairs International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) strategy reporting to the Executive Liaison to ICAO.
As part of a small agile and empowered team chartered with pioneering a new growth area this role is critical to integrating global rulemaking and policy strategy. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to lead with velocity and agility addressing the complex technical economic and socio-political issues associated with emerging technologies while working effectively with a wide range of global stakeholders.
Regarding EASA this position will coordinate closely and have a matrix reporting relationship with Boeing Global EU Affairs in Brussels who have the lead in maintaining high-level relationships with the European Commission and its regulatory agencies.
Position responsibilities:
Working closely with Government Operations DC and Boeing Global Brussels to develop FAA/EASA engagement strategies to mitigate business risks and drive growth opportunities for BCA BGS and CASO.
Support the integration of Boeing efforts across enterprise and business units regarding ICAO and EASA rulemaking standard-setting initiatives and strategic plans.
Develop global engagement strategies focused on third-party organizations with ICAO observer status (such as IATA ACI and CANSO) to identify joint advocacy opportunities.
Represent Boeing and ICCAIA in discussions regarding ICAO-related initiatives and international fora.
Collaborate effectively within a highly motivated diverse team while maintaining the ability to work independently as part of a globally distributed workforce.
Apply a safety-first enterprise-wide mindset to all global solutions and strategic initiatives.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as law political science business strategy or public policy.
At least 7 years of experience in regulatory strategy policy development or a related field.
Experience managing and leading teams as well as influencing and being sensitive to lines of responsibility within matrixed organizations.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Extensive knowledge of global and EASA policy and rulemaking issues in aviation and the aviation industry.
Strong analytical skills including the ability to collect analyze and interpret data from multiple sources.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders including industry groups government agencies and environmental organizations.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Familiarity with EASA rulemaking and ICAO standard setting processes in the aviation sector.
Ability to travel as needed to attend meetings conferences and other events.
