Job Summary
Duties & Responsibilities
Job Position: Financial Controller
Ref: 5190
Location: PE/Gqeberha
Salary: R25000 to R35000 per month commensurate with qualification and experience
Qualifications / Requirements:
- A solid background in Accounting or Finance (Degree/Diploma preferred) with a mastery of the Trial Balance
- Proficiency in advanced Excel and Pastel/Sage
- Experience with AI automation tools or ERP systems highly advantageous
- Highly detail-oriented professional who understands that accuracy fuels the ROI models in FP&A
- Ability to liaise confidently across departments and handle the pressure of month-end deadlines with ease
Key Performance Areas:
Strategic financial engineering
- Own capital discipline: Drive ROI modelling per campaign and conduct deep-dive margin analysis per SKU to ensure every cent works for us
- Performance optimization: monitor the cash conversion cycle and implement controls to plug cost leakage
- Tech integration: identify and implement AI and automation tools to streamline repetitive finance workflows
Core accounting and reporting
- Trial balance mastery: analyse TB data to produce final financial reporting and high-level costing spreadsheets
- Full function bookkeeping: manage the cashbook process AP/AR (debtors and creditors) capture invoices and ensure precise payment allocation
- Management support: Assist the Financial Manager and National Bookkeeper with monthly management accounts budgeting and statutory compliance
Operational excellence
- Working capital management: follow up on outstanding accounts and resolve complex financial queries with suppliers and clients
- Audit and compliance: maintain a bulletproof audit trail ensuring all records meet company policies and relevant financial regulations
- Collaborative support: provide administrative muscle to the finance team and act as a key point of contact for External Auditors
