Job Summary
Mount Mansfield Unified Union School District is seeking a compassionate collaborative and student-centered School Nurse to join our team as a long-term substitute beginning as soon as possible through the end of the school year.
This position offers flexibility:
1.0 FTE split between Smilie Memorial School (.5 FTE) and Camels Hump Middle School (.5 FTE) or
.5 FTE at one school with the potential to hire two candidates if preferred.
This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys working in school-based settings and partnering closely with educators families and community providers to support student health and well-being.
About the Role
The School Nurse plays a vital role in promoting student health supporting academic success and fostering a safe school environment. The successful candidate will:
Provide direct nursing care and first aid to students and staff
Manage and implement individualized health plans and emergency care plans
Administer medications and maintain accurate health records
Monitor and support students with chronic health conditions
Collaborate with families school staff and healthcare providers
Promote health education and wellness within the school community
Ensure compliance with state regulations and district policies
Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum of four (4) years of nursing experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Experience working with children or in a school setting preferred
