Job Summary

Position Summary:

The Regional Director position is responsible for the overall quality of school programming and maintains a laser-focus on continually increasing the number of students who thrive in our schools. They pursue this work through excellent leadership in management and development operations technology talent curriculum and finance. The Regional Director will accomplish their responsibilities by working collaboratively with Campus Directors reporting to the Brand Superintendent and serving on the Senior Leadership Team.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification and Experience

  • Four-year degree from an accredited College or University (Masters Preferred)
  • Teaching certificate or school administrator certificate (preferred)
  • 5 years of experience in an educational environment
  • 3 years of experience working with administrative leadership clients and/or stakeholders and/or education personnel related to school improvement facilitation of learning or related educational interest
  • 3 years of experience using information and instructional technology
  • 3 years of experience in supervising a staff
  • 3 years of experience in managing budgets

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of federal and state education laws
  • General knowledge of organizational structure and processes
  • Strong organizational time management written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to support and mentor the development of staff
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of students their parents teachers the community peers administrative staff and district staff
  • Ability to interpret policies procedures
  • Ability to create growth or improvement opportunities
  • Ability to mentor train and support personnel
  • General knowledge of budgetary processes and accounting procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to be a contributing member of an organizational team
  • Ability to speak in public on a frequent basis

  • Ability to travel frequently

Responsibilities and Duties:

Managerial Leadership and Team Development

  • Manages 3-5 School Leaders
  • Builds a strong cohesive team culture that reflects Ignite Community School core values
  • Serves as a thought partner to direct reports as they lead their respective teams; coaches and supports direct reports to address their key roles and responsibilities
  • Works in collaboration with the Brand Superintendent and Talent Team to hire campus Directors and Deans of Instruction and execute the organizational talent strategy in schools including providing best-practice coaching and development annual goal setting and succession planning
  • Plans and implements professional development for Campus Director and Deans of Instruction
  • Supervises School Leaders in the creation and implementation of effective Professional Development opportunities for their staff
  • Completes bi-annual performance evaluations of direct reports
  • Supports the development of Deans of Instruction and assigned Leader-in-Residence and successor leaders across all schools

Instructional Leadership & Academic Support

  • Works with Campus Directors to implement the academic strategies all aspects of the talent strategies and support Campus Directors to implement their school priorities in alignment with Ignite Community Schools vision mission and strategic plan
  • Collaborates with Brand Superintendent Curriculum & Instruction Director and centralized Academic Team members to implement academic priorities
  • Works with Campus Directors to develop and implement long-term plans for curriculum assessment and school improvement based on data
  • Ensures that the Campus Directors have a clear plan for improvement of instruction and school culture
  • Engages School Leaders in weekly academic program analysis and progress monitoring
  • Manages long-term and annual school planning
  • Works alongside the Executive Director to support the development of strong school operational systems and processes with a focus on data collection scheduling and Special Education programs and services



Brand-Wide School Operations

  • Actively participates in Ignite Senior Leadership team
  • Works with Ignite Senior Leadership Team to develop a vision and comprehensive long-term plan for the design of the schools
  • Recommends to the Brand Superintendent system-wide goals monitors and reports back to the Brand Superintendent on the progress toward achieving the goals
  • Works with the Executive Director and ResponsiveEd central office to ensure that all of the operations technology talent and financial needs of the schools are met
  • Partners with external stakeholders community agencies donors and other third-party constituencies
  • Strategizes and works alongside Campus Director and Executive Director to ensure we meet our student retention goals and average daily attendance
