We are currently seeking a full-time Statewide Psychiatry Director to serve as the clinical leader for our Illinois contract.The Statewide Psychiatry Director will provide the clinical direction needed to meet the mental health/psychiatric service delivery requirements of the Illinois state contract in collaboration with the Program Manager/Vice President of Operations. The Statewide Psychiatric Director supervises psychiatric staff and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams in providing services to patients with psychiatric disorders in a correctional setting. The Statewide Psychiatry Director will also:
- Supervise thepsychiatric staff and collaboratewith multidisciplinary teams in providing services to patients with psychiatric disorders in a correctional setting.
- Provideinterface with clients clinical and administrative leadership on issues related to psychiatric services
- Direct coordinate and evaluatepsychiatric treatments in collaboration with the mental health multidisciplinary team.
- Collaboratein the monitoring of patients requiring on-going mental health services and the development of individualized mental health treatment plans and continuity of care
- Provide clinical direction and leadership to psychiatrists nurse practitioners and other mental health staff
- Ensures patient care is appropriate accurate and received in a timely manner and in compliance with NCCHC and other relevant standards of care
- Ensurethat necessary schedules of psychiatric assignment and supervision are provided and maintained to provide for continuity of care
- Monitorpsychotropic medication utilization within the contract
- Overseethe involuntary medication review process
- Facilitatethe admission placement and discharge of patients from mental health units if required
- Establishand ensurethe operational availability to provide 24 hour on-call access to psychiatric consultation
- Monitorrecords in all aspects of psychiatric practices including but not limited to timeliness and accuracy of health records and patient care practices
- Participatein the development implementation and monitoring of mental health policies procedures and protocols
- ConductMortality Reviews for all patient suicides and other deaths involving mental health issues

Qualifications- Board certification in psychiatryREQUIRED
- Current license to practice medicine Illinoisrequired
- Documentation of education as MD or DO and completion of accredited residency program required
- Must have and maintain an active non-restricted Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration certificate
- Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing as a psychiatrist in a clinical setting is required
- Prior supervisory experience required
- Experience in correctional mental health stronglypreferred
- Must be able to pass background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable
- Excellent communication skills to include verbal listening written and comprehension
