Position Title: Assistant JV Cheerleading Coach
Reports To: Head Cheerleading Coach / Athletic Director
Position Overview:
Bradshaw Mountain High School located in Prescott Valley Arizona is seeking a dedicated and
enthusiastic Assistant JV Cheerleading Coach to support the development and success of
the Cheerleading program. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to
foster a positive competitive and growth-focused environment for student-athletes. The
assistant coach will focus on skill development teamwork leadership sportsmanship and
preparing student-athletes for advancement to the varsity level while supporting school spirit
and athletic events.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan organize and conduct regular practices that focus on cheerleading fundamentals
including motions jumps tumbling stunting and game-day performance skills.
Prepare the JV cheer team to perform at designated athletic events pep rallies and school
functions.
Teach and reinforce proper technique safety standards and injury prevention in all
cheerleading activities.
Promote academic achievement sportsmanship and character among student-athletes.
Coordinate with the Varsity Cheer Coach to ensure consistency in program expectations and
progression of skills.
Maintain effective communication with players parents and staff.
Supervise athletes during practices games travel and other team activities.
Ensure compliance with school and AIA regulations.
Assist with team fundraising equipment inventory and community engagement activities.
Qualifications:
Previous cheerleading experience and/or coaching experience preferred.
Knowledge of cheerleading techniques stunting progressions and safety standards.
Strong leadership communication and organizational skills.
Ability to motivate and mentor high school student-athletes.
Ability to work collaboratively with athletic department staff and school administration.
Certification:
Current CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain prior to season
start).
Background check and IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching
NFHS Concussion in Sports
NFHS Protecting Students from Abuse
NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest
Skills:
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Ability to motivate mentor and guide student-athletes.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students parents and staff.

Experience working with student-athletes in a school or educational setting.

Strong emphasis on athlete development and team culture.
Commitment to safety and proper skill progression.
