Job Summary:
The purpose of the Distribution Freight Clerk is to be responsible for communicating with fleet and dispatch to prioritize transfers and shipments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work safely with complete adherence to all safety procedures.
- Be a committed employee who adds value endeavoring to make EF a high performance workplace.
- Communicate with respect and be a team member
- Keep the supervisor appropriately informed of all problems and issues of concern.
- Communicate with internal fleet and dispatch to identify and prioritize transfers.
- Receive yard and guard reports documenting and verifying loading and emptying.
- Document and communicate all Pick List open items to other facility Transportation Services Clerks
- Communicate damaged or missing rolls at the shipping point to TSC
- Provide directions to drivers and outside vendors.
- Document transportation for proof of delivery retail author and bill of lading (pick-up delivery location or trailer number).
- Observe comply with all EF policies and contribute to the EF culture of a high performance workplace.
Performance Expectations (if applicable):
- Lifting standing reaching stooping bending is required and varies per shift.
- Must be able to talk on the phone use a computer and sit for extended periods.
- Must demonstrate ability to read and write English legibly computer facility in EXCEL CAMS.
- Must be able to do basic addition subtraction division and multiplication.
Experience/Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be self-motivated exhibit a sense of urgency maintain a pleasant helpful attitude and be highly productive even in periods of great stress.
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and written.
- Good organizational skills.
Other Requirements:
- Overtime is required
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- All accidents must be reported immediately.
