Job Highlights:
This is a part time Trauma Registrar position for St. Marys Hospital in Madison working a total of 16 hours per week.
Schedule: Primarily working remotely with some need for occasional in person team meetings in Madison. The specific shift and days of the week are flexible.
Job Summary:
Responsible for maintaining the trauma registry and required data submissions to both state and national databases.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Completes daily analysis of medical records for trauma patients determines eligibility for registry reporting and maintains the trauma registry.
- Maintains utilizes and communicates current knowledge of regulatory agency requirements and standards with regard to trauma care.
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding accurate interpretation and knowledge of the standards that regulate trauma registry activities.
- Completes daily analysis of medical records for trauma patients and determines eligibility for registry reporting.
- Performs queries for basic monthly reports from the trauma registry database.
- Utilizes various software systems to perform analysis graphs and compile data and reports in format that is user friendly.
- Maintains collaborative relationships providers agencies and internal departments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- Associates degree in Applied Science or related field or equivalent education and experience
EXPERIENCE
- Two years experience in health care
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting standing walking reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms malfunctioning machinery etc.
- Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
- Occasional bending stooping kneeling squatting twisting and gripping.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Rare climbing.
