Position Summary:
As the Member Engagement Coordinator your primary objective is to monitor FBNYC network members compliance with food safety distribution and handling standards and provide capacity building. The Member Engagement Coordinator provides superior customer service to assist members in meeting their clients income support and food needs. Member Engagement Coordinator plays a vital role in recruiting members for advocacy activities nutrition education and income support services. The Member Engagement Coordinator conducts visits within an assigned zone to monitor the implementation of nutrition education programming and community-based settings and provide on-site technical assistance with the goal of continuously improving quality and integration of community-based programming. This position supports the zones of Queens and North Brooklyn.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the relationship of a cohort of approximately 180 member agencies act as a liaison between FBNYC and food distribution programs conduct annual compliance site visits according to established procedures to assure compliance with regulations and standards and provide technical assistance;
Conduct capacity building visits to connect members to other Food Bank grants programs assist with conversion to Client Choice and provide superior customer service support with any service need;
Complete site reports within the same day and complete all associated documentation within 7-10 days; maintain appropriate and accurate documentation of site visits and record monitoring data;
Ensure assigned members are in compliance with membership contractual obligations including but not limited to online ordering frequency FEEDNYC submission and grant spend down maintain up to date member files for all members in assigned zone including 5013c food safety documentation and counter-signed contracts;
Implement corrective action plans with member agencies as needed to ensure full compliance with contractual and food safety related requirements;
Conduct ongoing education and capacity building trainings from Food Bank offices as well as in the zone on core competencies to food distribution programs;
Assess and assist members with client choice information and conversion;
Assist with developing and upholding department policies and procedures;
Provide succinct feedback to Member Services leadership on trends and needs of their zoned community related to capacity food needs and client base;
Assess members capacity for and make formal referrals to Programs department for participation in TEN SNAP and Benefits;
Coordinate logistics and administrative tasks associated with programs and monitoring activities including but not limited to responsibility for data entry filing and meeting coordination;
Lead and assist on special projects within Member Services as well as other departments in FBNYC;
Work closely with the Senior Member Engagement Coordinator to support successful Borough Chats and other member related events;
Lead workshops develop content and support all efforts for a successful annual agency conference;
Be able to present Food Banks scope of services and mission and core values;
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience: The ideal candidate is flexible and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task;
Bachelors degree and one to two years experience in public elementary school education community-based training program monitoring or another related field preferred;
Bilingual Spanish/English encouraged;
Ability to work independently in a challenging position with a constantly changingâworkâenvironment;
Travel throughout the 5 boroughs daily; minimum of 3 days in the field required;
Food Safety Certification a plus;
Knowledge of NetSuite and/or Salesforce a plus;
Proficiency in all MS office applications required;
Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills;
Excellent interpersonal skills and telephone manners.
Working Conditions / Additional Information
Frequent travel throughout the city to conduct site visits and trainings and attend meetings as needed.
