Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and monitors domestic shipments with compliance to company and industry standards
- Ensures appropriate carrier and service level are selected based on company objectives for delivery and cost
- Maintains shipping records including providing tracking or shipping history information to customers on request
- Manages invoices pertaining to transportation and packaging expenses
- Pro-actively addresses performance defects to ensure successful operations
- Identifies and supports initiatives conducive to greater efficiency and cost savings
- Cross-functionally collaborates with internal key stakeholders to support continual improvement
- Management of transportation damage claims with follow through to resolution with insurance and carriers
Qualifications:
- Proficient knowledge of logistics terminology and operations including various modes of transportation and the considerations for pricing and routing
- Understanding of FDA IATA and DOT regulations pertinent to transportation
- Comprehension of supply chain processes and lean manufacturing concepts
- Involvement in identifying and resolving complex issues
- Experience in recording maintaining and reporting accurate data
Characteristics:
- Bachelors degree in logistics or related field
- Demonstrated ability to professionally read write and speak in English
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment
- Adept communication and analytical skills
- Proficient with Microsoft programs (Outlook Excel Word PowerPoint)
- Ability to successfully resolve problems with internal and external stakeholders
- Prior experience within manufacturing logistics or supply chain management
- Proven ability to prioritize various initiatives and meet deadlines in a fast-paced changing environment
