Key Responsibilities

As the Heavy Equipment Technician you will play a critical role in ensuring industrial engines and power systems operate at peak performance minimizing downtime and maximizing reliability for clients across diverse industries.

Equipment Diagnostics & Repair

• Perform detailed diagnostics troubleshooting and mechanical repairs on heavy-duty industrial engines and related equipment.

• Identify root causes of mechanical hydraulic and electrical issues to deliver accurate efficient and lasting repairs.

Preventative Maintenance & Inspections

• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and compliance with safety standards.

• Complete service documentation thoroughly and accurately to maintain detailed maintenance histories and support operational planning.

Engine Overhaul & Component Rebuilds

• Disassemble inspect and rebuild major engine components according to manufacturer specifications.

• Apply precision measurement tools and technical manuals to ensure all rebuilds meet quality and performance standards.

Field Service & Customer Support

• Travel to client sites as required to perform on-site service emergency repairs and commissioning support.

• Communicate clearly with customers regarding findings timelines and recommendations to support informed decision-making.

Safety & Team Collaboration

• Adhere to all company and site-specific safety protocols maintaining a strong culture of workplace safety.

• Collaborate with fellow technicians parts teams and service coordinators to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional service delivery.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role candidates should demonstrate:

Education & Experience:

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification or equivalent trade qualification.

• 35 years of hands-on experience working with heavy-duty equipment or industrial engines.

• Experience with high-horsepower diesel engines or power generation systems is considered a strong asset.

Technical Skills:

• Strong mechanical aptitude with proven diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities.

• Proficiency in reading schematics service manuals and technical documentation.

• Experience using precision measurement tools and diagnostic software.

• Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical systems is an asset.
