Description
The Lead Staff member supports the mission and vision of CESA 6 and the IYS Program by modeling core values maintaining professional standards and ensuring high-quality services for clients and families. This role provides daily operational leadership oversees staff and client scheduling and ensures safe effective program delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Program Alignment & Professional Standards
- Align daily work with CESA 6 and IYS mission vision and goals
- Model professionalism collaboration accountability and solution-focused thinking
- Maintain clear timely and respectful communication
- Utilize required systems (HR platforms SharePoint Paylocity Humanity Ramp)
Program & Operations Management
- Oversee daily site operations phone/email communication and schedule management
- Manage supplies food planning materials and camp plans within budget
- Maintain facility cleanliness equipment safety procedures and vehicles
- Complete required documentation including incident reports and daily logs
- Attend required internal and external meetings
Staff Leadership & Development
- Support hiring onboarding training and orientation
- Provide coaching feedback evaluations and recognition
- Manage staff scheduling time-off requests and coverage
- Foster a positive collaborative team culture
Client Services & Family Communication
- Support enrollment attendance and capacity management
- Conduct intake meetings and maintain documentation
- Develop and update individual service plans
- Communicate with families and workers as needed
- Address behavioral concerns and assist in crisis response
Compliance & Safety
- Enforce policies emergency procedures and medication protocols
- Ensure accurate reporting and adherence to organizational guidelines
Professional Growth
- Participate in required trainings and implement learned strategies into programming
Requirements
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience Education and Licensure:
- High school diploma is required. Additional education is preferred.
- All program specific required training is provided through the program upon hire including county specific training.
- Prior experience working with youth and/or emotional behavioral disabilities is preferred.
- Valid drivers license and proof of auto insurance is required.
Required Skills and Abilities:

- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with diverse work teams.
- Ability to interpret and administer policies and procedures consistently and objectively.
- Communicate effectively and timely verbally and in writing to a diverse audience.
- Plan organize and prioritize work.

- Excellent time-management with ability to manage schedules and meet deadlines.
- Problem-prevention and problem-solving skills.
- Work accurately with close attention to detail.

- Professionally represent the agency and public private and parochial school districts in interactions with staff customers and community.
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work Environment:
- Ability to work from multiple settings including several programs and CESA 6 office locations.
- Position may require extended hours including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands:
- The employee is regularly required to communicate effectively in person via phone and in writing.
- The employee may occasionally lift or move equipment up to 20 pounds.
- Due to the physical nature of clients with the IYS Program the position may be required to perform trained crisis prevention techniques which may require restraining a client ranging in weight.
