The UW Counseling Center has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Director for Campus Partnerships position.
This position directs partnerships between the UWCC and the UW Seattle campus including liaison programs and mental health outreach efforts. The AD for Campus Partnerships leads and oversees mental health and wellness outreach efforts for the Counseling Centers diverse team of mental health workers provides administrative and clinical leadership and carries a clinical caseload.
AD for Campus Partnerships will:
Provide internal UWCC and campus-facing leadership with a focus on cross-team and cross unit collaborations/partnerships.
Provide administrative leadership for UWCC teams including liaison teams.
Provide clinical supervision to mental health counselors of varying training backgrounds.
AD for Campus Partnerships will be:
Collaborative and adaptive. Able to work across systems and work/team cultures to identify shared goals and implement shared initiatives. Comfortable in a team-centered workplace.
Practiced and skillful. Experienced in supervision and team management ideally in a clinical/health services environment. Demonstrated success leading groups.

Strategic and self-motivated. Comfortable working in complex systems such as higher education and healthcare able to self-start and stay the course with long-term administrative and facilitation projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Directing Campus Partnerships (40%)
Provide vision coordination and cultural expertise for the centers outreach and partnerships within the larger context of co-creating a campus climate that promotes mental health.
Directing partnerships with embedded units and schools including supervision of liaison teams and outreach efforts.
Provide consultation to campus community regarding students in crisis.
Interact periodically with press or other public media involving either issues of college student mental health or explanation of University services.
Engage meaningfully with leadership and campus partners at the university and division levels to advise collaborate and enhance campus climate.
Develop assessment evaluation and data management for liaison teams to determine effectiveness and share with liaison units.
Leadership Administration and Management for UWCC (35%)
In collaboration with the UWCC leadership team steer the department in its endeavors which include caring for student meant health delivery of direct psychotherapy cultural humility promotion/expansion outreach and emergency services to students and consultation to faculty staff and families.
Provide direction to UWCC leadership regarding campus partnerships.
Respond and consult rapidly in response to unexpected events (e.g. student death)
Supervise mental health staff and serve as a collaborative interface with support staff.
Provide ongoing administrative and clinical consultation with UWCC staff
Chair the UWCC Cultivating Culture Committee
Ability to work in a cross-cultural the role of trauma (historical community family and personal) in wellness and recovery is proficiency and expertise working with underserved students is required.
Provide direct Clinical Services (15%)
Provide initial/intake assessments crisis intervention and short-term individual group and couple counseling for enrolled University of Washington students.
Support the mental health of individuals from underrepresented and marginalized communities to promote student retention and graduation.
Provide crisis assessment and intervention when students present in distress.
Outreach (10%)
Provide outreach presentations to student groups classrooms and others as requested on topics that support the mental health of UWs diverse student population.
Attend campus events to represent the Counseling Center.
To provide professional consultation to UW faculty staff family and students regarding student behavior mental health and academic challenges to enhance the campus climate for student success.
Standard Expectations for Counseling Center Employees
Attend regular counseling center staff meetings and participate in other meetings as appropriate.
Serve on the interdisciplinary team designed to enhance the mental health of UW students create a healthier and more inclusive campus climate and to respond to mental health crises. This includes participating in committees or other center projects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters Degree in a mental health-related field.
At least three years of experience providing mental health counseling.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements such as a license/certification/registration.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensure as independent mental health provider for more than two years.
Three or more years experience providing mental health counseling in a university counseling center or similar higher education setting.
Demonstrated excellence in clinical assessment psychotherapy and counseling crisis intervention and psychoeducation.
Proven cultural proficiency and deep experience serving diverse populations.
Demonstrated commitment to racial and social justice.
Ability to work effectively under pressure while prioritizing and managing multiple administrative and clinical responsibilities.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience supervising mental health professionals and supporting their clinical growth.
Clinical experience in working with trauma and trauma-informed treatment approaches.
Experience providing gender affirming care
Experience providing treatment via telehealth technology.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with campus partners and interdisciplinary colleagues.
