Reports To: Senior Payroll Manager Corporate

Key Responsibilities Intro

Relying on broad experience and judgment this role is accountable for accomplishing the following responsibilities and has substantial latitude for actions or decisions made with minimal review.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the accurate timely processing of payroll for all employees in compliance with Company policies and with federal state and local regulations.
  • Supervise train and develop the payroll staff.
  • Supervise and approve off-cycle adjustments including but not limited to bonus payments manual checks and fringe benefits.
  • Participate in the payment and reporting of federal and multi-state withholding taxes and related reports.
  • Review payroll calculations and related transactions to ensure that they are accurately documented and records are maintained to support the actions of the department.
  • Prepare and review the preparation of various payrolls tax labor and other management reports on a periodic and ad hoc basis.
  • Maintain records used to determine pay eligibility such as vacation holiday sick and personal time.
  • Prepare and review the issuance of manual payroll checks review status changes for proper classification and investigate and identify labor variances such as overtime.
  • Maintain the set-up of new payroll tax accounts with agencies and 3rd party vendor.
  • Coordinate quarterly and year-end processes including supplemental payrolls W-2 balancing and wage and tax balancing for quarterly returns.
  • Balances payroll accounts by auditing information; identifying and resolving discrepancies; initiating journal entries.
  • Partners with Accounting in maintaining the general ledger interface producing management reports and produce payroll internal and external audit-related requests.


Requirements

  • Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Accounting a related field or the equivalent education and/or experience
  • 6 years of relevant and progressive experience in the area of specialization
  • Workday payroll processing experience required

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience preferred
  • CPP preferred
  • Possess and have ability to apply broad knowledge of principles practices and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on confidentiality tact and diplomacy
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledgeable of industry changes legal updates and technical developments related to applicable area of the Companys business to proactively respond to changing business environment
  • Advanced proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel Access PowerPoint Word)

  • Test controls to determine if they are performing as intended.

People Management

  • Has full HR responsibility for direct reports including making hiring decisions training coordinating work establishing standards reviewing work conducting performance appraisals and providing coaching or counseling.
