Overall Purpose of the Job.
- To regulate monitor and enforce Legal Compliance at the SACAA in line with all laws regulations standards rules procedures and process documents that are applicable to the SACAA assist with Ethics and Governance.
Key Performance Areas
- Assist in the Implementation of an effective legal compliance program.
- Compiling Compliance Risk Management Plans to identify gaps.
- Assist in development and reviewing company policies to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
- Assist in advising Legal compliance specialist on the companys compliance with laws and regulations through detailed reports.
- Assist in creating and managing effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations.
- Assist with monitoring of compliance with laws.
- Present training on applicable laws.
- Identify news laws applicable to SACAA and out for public comment.
- Consolidate commentary on draft laws and regulations.
- Assist the governance and ethics department.
- Assist with PAIA Applicationsand the administration thereof.
- Drafting of representations to the Information Regulator.
- Assist the Company Secretary and Assistant Company Secretary with governance related matters.
Outputs/Deliverables
- Development and implementation of the POPIA compliance program.
- Implementation of the Legal Compliance and Governance program.
- Monitoring Ethics compliance.
- Assist with Ethics training.
- Regularly audit legal compliance in terms of company procedures practices and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risks.
- Assess company operations to determine compliance risk.
- Ensure all employees are educated on the latest regulations and processes.
- Process PAIA Applications.
- Prepare minutes.
- Drafting of memos and opinions.
- Prepare minutes as required for meetings.
Minimum Requirements
- Legal Degree (LLB or B Proc)
Ideal Requirements
- LLB or B Proc degree and
- Compliance Certificate or Served Articles or Admitted Attorney .
Minimum Experience
- Minimum 12 months experience required in a law firm or legal compliance/governance office
