POSITION TITLE: Anticipated Homebound Instructor for Instructional Support Part-TIme Up to 10 Hours per Week
QUALIFICATIONS:- Licensed Teacher Preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative problem-solving skills.
- Successful prior experience working with students and adapting curriculum content to learner needs.
- Knowledge of best practices in teaching and learning and the ability to apply these practices.
- Commitment to the School Districts mission and Strategic Plan.
REPORTS TO: Director of Student Support Services
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Homebound Tutor for Instructional Support works under the direction of the Director of Student Support Services and other school staff as appropriate. He/she will serve both special education and other students requiring homebound tutoring.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:- Instruct individual students according to their defined education plans and/or identified needs.
- Support special education and/or regular classroom teacher suggestions for instructional delivery.
- Supervise students progress as assigned.
- Maintain a record of student performance and growth as directed by the Director of Student Support Services.
- Administer content area tests as appropriate.
- Communicate on a regular basis with the Director of Student Support Services and appropriate school staff members.
- Attend basic staffing and IEP conferences as requested.
- Serve as a liaison between the school and home during the time that any student is receiving homebound tutoring.
- Participate in continuing professional development activities.
- Assume other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Support Services.
EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated annually in person and in writing by the Director of Student Support Services consistent with the process described in the School Board/Support Staff Agreement; if the position exceeds 20 hours per week; otherwise per current School Board Policy for Support Staff Personnel.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Per School Board and Support Staff Agreement if position exceeds 20 hours per week; otherwise per current School Board Policy for Support Staff Personnel.
