Technical Requirements / Education / Experience
Academic background in Health and Safety or Engineering (Chemical Industrial or related disciplines).
Masters degree or specialization in Occupational Health Environmental practices or related.
20 years of relevant experience including significant leadership supervisory and management responsibility.
Proven experience in large-scale EPC/EPCM projects is highly required.
Experience within the Energy and Resources sector (Oil & Gas Minerals and Metals) is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to lead diverse and remote teams to align Worleys HSE strategy across the region.
Strong knowledge of applicable health safety and environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks.
Experience applying incident investigation methodologies (TapRooT ICAM 5 Whys).
Solid Knowledge of emergency response planning and risk mitigation.
Desirable experience with process risk methodologies such as HAZID HAZOP Bowtie LOPA among others.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word Excel PowerPoint Power BI).
Fluent in English and Spanish; Portuguese is a plus.

Objective:
Provide strategic leadership and oversight of Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) performance across LATAM&C ensuring full alignment with Worleys global and regional HSE strategy. The role is responsible for driving a strong HSE culture ensuring regulatory compliance managing risk across EPC/EPCM projects and locations and advising senior leadership on HSE matters. The Director HSE enables safe project delivery supports business development activities and ensures organizational readiness capability and resources to achieve Worleys HSE objectives across the region.
Responsibilities:
Lead and deploy the HSE strategy across LATAM&C in alignment with Worleys global and regional guidelines Values and Behaviors.
Ensure effective implementation of HSE programs across projects and locations in LATAM&C.
Ensure HSE function in LATAM&C is adequately resourced to meet Worleys HSE expectations and objectives.
Act as a truster advisor to senior leadership on health safety and environmental decision-making ensuring compliance with legislation and regional and global guidelines.
Identify assess and control risks associated with the business (location and projects) including identification and compliance with legal and other applicable requirements.
Support Business Development and capture team during the project opportunity development (Middle Game and End Game) by reviewing HSE risks and responsibilities.
Provide regular updates and reports to the Regional HSE Lead (primary reporting line) with dotted-line reporting to the GO/MPP Senior Vice Presidents regarding location HSE programs and processes.
Drive HSE capability development through training and competency-building initiatives across locations and projects in LATAM&C.
Establish HSE Committees in the locations to promote and communicate performance across the location and projects.
Work with regional and project HSE teams to design and implement programs and campaigns aimed at eliminating or minimizing undesired events.
Ensure HSE readiness and governance prior to project mobilization and during execution.
Implement and monitor the contractor management program.
Ensure emergency preparedness response readiness and crisis management capability across locations and projects.
Conduct regular field visits and leadership engagements at client project and operational sites.
