Job Description:
- Participates in patient education of proper oral hygiene performs preventive dental care reviews patient health history reinforces treatment plans.
- Takes dental X-rays as directed by the dentist and reviews them for signs of dental disease.
- Maintains instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment by sharpening sterilizing and selecting instruments.
- Completes dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and from beneath gum margins.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current valid unrestricted license as a Dental Hygienist issued by the Arizona Board of Dental Examiners.
- Current completed PSV from the Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners.
Required Skills:
Conduct patient evaluations histories and physical exams for new and follow-up cardiology patients Manage and monitor patients with cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension coronary artery disease atrial fibrillation heart failure and hyperlipidemia Order and interpret diagnostic tests including EKGs Holter monitors echocardiograms and stress tests Assist in care coordination for procedures or specialty referrals Provide inpatient cardiology consults and follow-ups (if applicable) Participate in hospital rounds discharge planning and transitions of care Educate patients and families on lifestyle changes medications and disease management Collaborate closely with supervising cardiologists primary care providers and support staff
Required Education:
Current and unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Hawaii or eligibility to obtain one National certification (AANP ANCC or NCCPA) BLS and ACLS certification required 12 years cardiology or internal medicine experience preferred; strong new graduates with relevant rotations or RN cardiology background considered Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Comfortable working independently with physician support EMR experience
