A vacancy has arisen for the role of HR Manager UK & Ireland located at our Cardiff Office in Cardiff Bay.

The Role

As HR Manager you will act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders combining deep technical HR expertise with strong business acumen. You will lead HR activities across multiple disciplines ensuring best practice legal compliance and effective governance while embedding Atradius values throughout the organisation.

You will play a key role in shaping and delivering HR strategy supporting organisational change coaching leaders and ensuring HR policies and programmes are effectively implemented to meet current and future business needs.

The successful applicant will provide strategic and operational leadership across the full breadth of Human Resources. This is a senior influential role partnering closely with country management teams to deliver people strategies that support business performance change and growth as well as the provision of excellent HR Services to the business. You will be part of a collaborative management environment contributing to both local and wider Group initiatives while reinforcing Atradius values in everything you do.


In this position your key responsibilities will be:

  • Provide strategic HR leadership across recruitment employee relations reward performance management learning and development and workforce planning
  • Act as a change agent supporting management through organisational and cultural change at local and country level
  • Drive the effective application of HR policies and governance to resolve complex people issues efficiently and pragmatically
  • Partner with Management Teams to anticipate people risks and opportunities offering well-considered best-practice solutions
  • Lead collective bargaining negotiations and maintain strong transparent relationships with Trade Unions
  • Deliver meaningful HR management information employee survey insights and exit interview analysis to inform decision-making
  • Manage HR budgets resources and workforce costs providing critical assessment and advice on organisation design and manning
  • Lead coach and develop the HR team setting clear objectives providing regular feedback and supporting professional growth
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external networks including senior leaders HR colleagues across the Group and external employment forums and providers
  • Company nominated Trustee to the UK DB and DC Pensions Plans
  • Senior Manager & Certification Regime facilitation for country (fit and proper declarations) and responsibility for HR Operational Function
  • Member of the Health Safety and Welfare Compliance and Business Continuity Committees

The ideal candidate will have the following profile:

  • CIPD qualified
  • Relevant Degree/Post Graduate Degree in an HR Discipline
  • At least 5 years experience operating in a Senior HR Generalist role in an international Financial Services environment
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally
  • Recognised expert within Human Resources with extensive and up-to-date knowledge of UK & Ireland employment law and employee relations
  • Proven experience handling complex HR issues and providing technical leadership within a senior or specialist HR role
  • Strong business understanding with the ability to link HR strategy tools and interventions to organisational objectives
  • Confident influencer and communicator able to present complex ideas clearly and anticipate and address stakeholder concerns
  • Demonstrated experience coaching senior leaders and supporting high-performing management teams
  • Pragmatic flexible and solutions-focused approach with the confidence to challenge constructively and drive continuous improvement
  • Strong leadership capability with the ability to manage and develop HR professionals and foster a collaborative team culture
  • Has a genuine concern for people and the ability to get to the core of an issue at the earliest opportunity.
  • Reliable and trustworthy in all situations an excellent ambassador for HR & Atradius
  • Commercially astute
