Role description:
Off the back of growing demand in our transport team and to support an exciting array of future projects we are seeking a Technical Director/Design Manager with Highways and General Civil industry experience to provide leadership across complex multidisciplinary projects. You will have a strong technical background in roads and highways engineering (or similar) with a proven track-record in delivering multi-disciplinary projects have an in-depth understanding of digital delivery processes and have demonstrated leadership attributes in the delivery of major projects within Australia.
Role accountabilities:
- Providing sound and effective leadership by providing direction and technical advice leading by example and championing a quality culture;
- Ability to effectively implement project delivery best practice in the following areas: risk and change management planning project set-up common data environments (including BIM and doc control);
- Ensuring that effective financial and project management controls are in place and deployed to enable monitoring modification and forecasting as appropriate;
- Working to ensure maximum client satisfaction championing client care and proactively working with the client;
- Driving project performance service delivery technical and commercial outcomes and undertaking reviews with a passion to ensure client delivery is above expectation;
- Identifying opportunities in the market driving and leading pursuits and leading the preparation of bids and tender submissions;
- Developing people on projects by playing to their strengths and providing stretch targets to enable our people to reach their potential; and
- Providing line management duties (when required) to manage mentor and develop less experienced members of the Arcadis Civil Infrastructure team.
Qualifications & Experience:
First and foremost you share our passion for improving quality of life and driving a culture of collaboration and ability to work as part of a teamYou are a seasoned design management professional with extensive experience in the transportation infrastructure market and come to us with:
- Relevant engineering degree with Chartered status or equivalent professional accreditation;
- Confident in leading multidisciplinary design teams for road and highway projects within a design and engineering consultancy environment;
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex highway infrastructure projects;
- Well-developed technical and commercial skills with a sound knowledge of the industry and a demonstrated ability in securing opportunities;
- Excellent communication skills and strong stakeholder management experience and the ability to build credible collaborative but influential relationships both internally and externally;
- Previous demonstrated experience in line management will be an advantage but is not essential; and
- Experience in the successful delivery of projects for Main Roads Western Australia will be an advantage but is not essential.
