What we are looking for:

We are seeking a motivated Technical Officer Roads to provide technical and engineering support to the investigation and assessment of Councils road and drainage assets. This role contributes to accurate advice responsive customer service and effective asset management outcomes within a collaborative infrastructure environment.

What your day will look like:

  • Investigate and respond to customer requests relating to road and drainage assets
  • Undertake field inspections basic calculations and asset data collection
  • Prepare technical reports correspondence and asset records
  • Apply relevant standards legislation and Council requirements
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve enquiries
  • Support identification of maintenance needs and future works

What youll need for success:

  • Current Class C or CA Queensland Driver Licence (provisional or open)
  • General Construction Induction (White Card)
  • Experience undertaking or supporting civil or infrastructure investigations
  • Ability to research analyse and interpret technical and asset information
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation standards and Council requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication with a customer service focus
  • Ability to use office-based and technical systems to prepare reports

Whats nice to have:

  • Tertiary qualification (AQF Level 5 or above) in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Experience in a local government or public infrastructure environment
