DescriptionJob Title: Social Worker - Cancer Center Support Services - Mount Sinai Chelsea - Full Time - Day
- Provide psychosocial services to patients and families in an outpatient cancer center at - The Blavatnik Family Chelsea Medical Center at Mount Sinai.
- Provide counseling crisis intervention concrete services and ensuring access to services for patients with cancer.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and close collaboration with oncology social workers including cross coverage.
- Participate in program development and implementation research and quality improvement activities.
- May be asked to work at Mount Sinai downtown additional sites depending on needs of the department.
Responsibilities- Oncology social work experience required- minimum 1 year.
- Spanish speaking preferred.
- Excellent clinical communication collaborative and organizational skills.
- Flexibility and creativity in adapting to rapidly changing patient and team needs.
Qualifications- Masters in Social Work from an accredited school of social work. Knowledge of social work services theories techniques community resources and agencies.
- New York State Licensure (LMSW or LCSW) from the New York State Department of Education. Oncology experience or health care experience in a medical setting preferred.
