Job Summary

Summary
Precision machining of pump parts including rings bushings sleeves and shafts
Ability to hold .001 T.I.R. tolerances on finished products
Responsibilities
Review samples drawings and instructions to understand job specifications
Plan sequence of actions required to complete each job
Take measurements and mark materials for cutting or shaping
Select appropriate machines such as lathes and position or load materials
Determine and program batch size machine speed and other settings
Monitor machines during operation adjust feed maintain temperature and identify issues
Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specifications and remove defects
Keep records of approved and defective units
Perform routine machine maintenance and minor repairs
Qualifications
Proven experience as a machinist
Experience operating and or programming manual semi automated or automated machines including lathes and grinders
Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
Knowledge of metal properties and materials
Ability to read blueprints schematics and manuals
Strong math and analytical skills
Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy items
High school diploma or equivalent vocational training or apprenticeship preferred
Additional Information
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be able to work in a non climate controlled shop environment with exposure to heat dirt and noise
8 hour shifts with regular overtime available
High School Diploma or GED required
No travel required
