Job Summary

The Arlington School District is seeking a dynamic educator to fill our full-time High School English Teacher position. The candidate must have a deep understanding of learner-centered instructional practices. Knowledge of and experience developing curriculum and success criteria using formative assessments to drive instruction as well as monitoring student growth utilizing data to inform instruction and understanding Vermont Proficiency-based Graduation Requirements are (include but are not limited to): Demonstrates knowledge of subject(s) through instructional practices Familiarity with Vermont Graduation Proficiencies and Common Core Standards Ability to teach to a wide range of ability levels and learning styles Guide the learning process toward the achievement of learning goals Use assessment information to provide students with feedback Establish and maintain standards of student behavior conducive to an effective learning environment Maintain productive lines of communication with students parents and colleagues Understand and respect adolescent development in an academic and social setting Implement administrative directives in a professional manner Adhere to all District policies and regulationsADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:The successful candidate will be a collaborative team player who embraces ongoing professional development.
