Job Summary

Job Overview:
Andurils is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with a Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering background to join our Team in Sydney Australia. As Manufacturing Engineer you will leverage deep technical expertise to solve complex manufacturing challenges drive technology insertion and ensure the manufacturability of next-generation products from the earliest stages of design. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment excels at real-time problem-solving and is passionate about driving continuous improvement to optimize production flow quality and cost. Executing on this responsibility will entail active collaboration with Anduril teams across Supply Chain Engineering Quality and Business Operations. The right person for this role can demonstrate past ownership on solving production challenges with creative solutions in a fast-paced resource-limited environment.



What Youll Do
  • Provide expert Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) feedback influencing designs to ensure they are compatible with capable and cost-effective manufacturing processes.
  • Analyze engineering drawings material selections and tolerance stacks to identify and mitigate manufacturing risks early in the product lifecycle.
  • Investigate and resolve production line-down situations assembly problems process deviations and tooling issues to minimize downtime and maintain schedule.
  • Provide clear and concise interpretation of engineering drawings specifications and work instructions to the production team.
  • Develop maintain and continuously improve detailed manufacturing work instructions assembly guides and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure clarity repeatability and quality. Manage these requirements within Andurils MES.
  • Serve as the technical lead for investigating complex or systemic production issues conducting deep-dive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify fundamental process flaws.
  • Develop novel tooling solutions for fabrication and assembly of structural parts.
  • Assess the process impact of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and define the necessary requalification and validation activities.
  • Provide support to Supply Chain in the technical qualification and development of critical suppliers assessing their process capabilities to meet demanding engineering requirements.
  • Collaborate on the design and optimization of workstation and production line layouts to enhance ergonomics safety and efficiency.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and team engagement.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment (e.g. aerospace defense medical device complex electronics).
  • Bachelors degree in Manufacturing Engineering Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot technical manufacturing issues and lead root cause analysis.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings schematics and specifications including a strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with operators technicians and senior management.
  • Prior knowledge and interaction with a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for production operations
  • Prior knowledge of Oracle (ERP) Teamcenter (PLM) or similar systems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance (NV2).


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Production line design and set up including Value Stream Mapping material flow workstation and tooling design.
  • Experience with work instruction authoring and MBOM configuration.
  • Experience with CAD software (NX Solidworks Siemens/Teamcenter)

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience education and/or training critical skills and/or business considerations.
