TITLE:SECONDARYASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters Degree
- Secondary Administration Certification Required
- At least five years successful teaching experience
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as theBoard may find appropriate and acceptable
REPORTS TO:Principal
SUPERVISES:
- All staff assigned to the school.
- All other resource and service personnel while functioningin the assigned school.
JOB GOAL:To relieve the principal of such impediments as to preventhim/her from fulfilling his/her chief responsibility ofpromoting the educational well-being of each student inthe school.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in the scheduling of classes; supervises the extra-curricular activities program.
- Assists in the preparation of student schedules.
- Works with department heads and faculty groups in compiling the annualbudget requests.
- Requisitions supplies and equipment conducting inventories maintainingrecords and checking on receipts for such material.
- Assists in the responsibility for coordinating transportation custodial cafeteriaand other support services.
- Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance and doesinvestigative follow-up actions where needed.
- Supervises conduct within the school and oversees all disciplinary procedureskeeping records of any disciplinary action.
- Assists with parent faculty and student groups as requested in advancingthe educational program and related activities and objectives.
- Works with the principal in promoting the in-service program of the staff and assists in theCommunity Awareness Program.
- Assists in textbook and supplies distribution and inventory.
- Works with the principal in the preparation of the student handbook.
- Assists the principal in the general administration of the school and servesas principal when the principal is absent.
- Keeps confidential records of special students and supervises IEP conferenceswhen necessary.
- Coordinates the in-school suspension program.
- Assigns any extra duties as necessary to teacher.
- Does monthly dropout report for state department and assists with otherstate reports as necessary.
- Obtains substitute teachers and/or covering teachers where necessary.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as theprincipal may from time to time assign.

- 205 days per year
