Job Summary
Senior Business Analyst
Location: Austin TX (Up to 80%100% Remote Option)
Duration: 5 Months
Position Overview
Seeking a Senior Business Analyst to perform advanced senior-level business analysis work across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
The Business Analyst will act as the liaison between business stakeholders and the development team ensuring that requirements are clearly defined documented validated and successfully implemented. This role requires strong facilitation documentation process modeling and requirements management expertise.
Essential Functions
Requirements Elicitation
Conduct requirements gathering through:
Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions
Workshops and stakeholder interviews
Document analysis
Surveys and site visits
Use cases and scenarios
Task and workflow analysis
Competitive product analysis
Analysis
Identify user needs pain points and business process gaps
Analyze current-state and future-state workflows
Evaluate system capabilities and recommend automation or improvements
Support business process re-engineering initiatives
Requirements Documentation
Develop:
Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
Functional Requirements
Use Cases
User Stories
Software Requirements Specifications (SRS)
Use clear concise and unambiguous language
Apply standardized documentation templates
Visual Modeling
Create:
Process flow diagrams
Context diagrams
UML diagrams
Wireframes
Mockups
Ensure designs align with UX best practices
Lifecycle & Governance
Participate throughout the SDLC
Manage requirement baselines and change control processes
Track requirement status and maintain traceability
Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Verify fulfillment of requirements including post-implementation enhancements
Manage deadlines using independent judgment and initiative
Minimum Required Qualifications
8 years experience eliciting requirements through stakeholder interviews
8 years experience with Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC)
8 years business process re-engineering and process improvement experience
8 years experience developing user stories and use cases aligned with BA best practices
8 years experience designing wireframes and mockups aligned with UX standards
5 years strong communication and facilitation skills
5 years strong writing and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
3 years experience with Atlassian Jira
3 years experience with Modern Requirements software
2 years experience working with state or local education agencies
1 year experience with K-12 instructional materials or procurement processes
