ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

At Artera we believe that the candidate experience is a reflection of our internal excellence. We are looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist who is obsessed with precision seamless communication and the future of work. You will initially own the backbone of our hiring processinterview coordination and documentationwhile scaling into sourcing and initial screenings.

Most importantly we are looking for a force multiplier. You should be someone who doesnt just follow a process but looks for ways to automate and optimize it using AI and modern recruiting tools to ensure we stay fast and human-centric.

This is a full-time in-office role (3-4 days/wk) based in our high-energy downtown Santa Barbara CA headquarters. Join a team where youll build your network gain foundational business acumen and enjoy the perks of living and working on the California coast.

Responsibilities

    • Interview Coordination: Orchestrate complex interview loops across various time zones ensuring a white-glove experience for both candidates and hiring managers.
    • Candidate Advocacy: Act as the primary point of contact for candidates ensuring they are informed prepared and excited about Artera at every stage.
    • Process & Document Management: Maintain our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) create high-quality job descriptions and manage offer letter generation with 100% accuracy.
    • AI Optimization: Proactively identify and implement AI-driven workflows (e.g. automated scheduling AI note-taking or LLM-assisted communications) to increase team velocity.
    • Future Growth (Sourcing & Screening): Transition into identifying top-tier talent through creative sourcing strategies and conducting initial phone screens to assess culture and skill fit.

Requirements

    • Detail Obsession: You have a measure twice cut once mentality. You catch the small errors in documents before they reach a candidate.
    • Communication Mastery: You can pivot your tone from professional and polished to warm and welcoming whether in Slack email or over the phone.
    • AI Literacy: You arent just aware of AI; you use it. You should be comfortable using tools like ChatGPT Google Gemini Claude or specialized recruiting AI to draft content and manage tasks.
    • Data Driven: Experience pulling reports from an ATS to show funnel metrics (e.g. time-to-hire or pass-through rates).
    • Collaborative Spirit: You thrive in a we-over-me environment and enjoy partnering with busy hiring managers to solve scheduling puzzles.
    • Adaptability: You are comfortable with the ambiguity of a growing company and are excited to take on more recruiting responsibilities as you grow.
    • Hybrid Collaboration: You thrive in a dynamic environment; you are energized by in-office collaboration 3 - 4 days a week at our Santa Barbara HQ while maintaining high productivity and seamless communication during remote days.

    • Technical Sourcing: Experience finding niche engineering or product talent using LinkedIn Recruiter Github or specialized sourcing platforms.
    • Artera Tooling: Experience utilizing the tooling we use at Artera or similar products ie. Google Suite (Gmail Docs Sheets etc.) Lever (ATS) Pillar (AI Interview Companion) Slack Zoom LinkedIn Recruiter Gemini.
    • Industry Knowledge: Previous experience working at a digital health health tech or healthcare organization.
    • Growth-Stage Experience: Previous experience in a high-growth startup environment.

Interview Process

    • We value your time and aim for a transparent efficient process:
    • Initial Screen: A 30-minute conversation with the Talent Acquisition Partner to discuss your background and interest in Artera.
    • Writing Assignment: A practical take home exercise related to AI usage for candidate communication.
    • Hiring Manager Interview: A 45-minute meeting with the SVP of People to discuss the take home exercise long-term vision for the team/role your career growth and alignment to Arteras values.
    • Stakeholder Panel: Meet 23 team members youll be supporting to discuss your collaboration and communication styles as well as an AI usage & efficiency deep dive.
$67000 - $90000 a year
The compensation for this role will be based on level of experience and the geographic tier in which you are located. This position also comes with equity and a variety of benefits.
OUR APPROACH TO WORK LOCATION
Artera has hybrid office locations in Santa Barbara CA and Philadelphia (Wayne) PA where team members typically come in three days a week. Specific frequency can vary depending on your teams needs manager expectations and/or role responsibilities.

In addition to our U.S. office locations we are intentionally building geographically concentrated teams in several key metropolitan areas which we call our Hiring Hubs. We are currently hiring remote candidates located within the following hiring hubs:
- Boston Metro Area MA
- Chicago Metro Area IL
- Denver Metro Area CO
- Kansas City Metro Area (KS/MO)
- Los Angeles Metro Area CA
- San Francisco / Bay Area CA
- Seattle Metro Area WA

This hub-based modelhelps us cultivate strong local connections and team cohesion even in a distributed environment.

To be eligible for employment at Artera candidates must reside in one of our hybrid office cities or one of the designated hiring hubs. Specific roles may call out location preferences when relevant.

As our hubs grow we may establish local offices to further enhance in-person connection and collaboration. While there are no current plans in place should an office open in your area we anticipate implementing a hybrid model. Any future attendance expectations would be developed thoughtfully considering factors like typical commute times and access to public transit to ensure they are fair and practical for the local team.
