The Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is recruiting a Division Director. The ideal candidate for this position is a physician-scientist with a strong record of research accomplishments in patient-oriented translational or basic science research. The Division Director also should have excellent mentoring clinical and teaching skills as well as administrative experience sufficient to lead the division. The Division Director will be supported by generous development funds and will be offered an endowed Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at the University of Pittsburgh encompasses the largest most comprehensive childhood cancer and blood disease center in the Western Pennsylvania Eastern Ohio and Northern West Virginia regions. The Division currently includes 21 faculty members and 10 Advanced-Practice Providers who provide compassionate state-of-the-art care for children with cancer and hematologic disorders. Members of the Division have extensive research interests spanning basic research to understand cancer mechanisms high-impact translational research and NIH-funded clinical trials. The Division also is home to an outstanding fellowship program to train future leaders in pediatric hematology and Department of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is comprised of 20 divisions six centers and two institutes with over 350 faculty members. The Department receives around $60 million in annual research support from the NIH and other federal and non-federal funding agencies.
