Role description:
Associate Technical Director Project Delivery (Highways Domain)
We are seeking to recruit an ambitious and dynamic ATD for our growing team in India to work alongside our United States (US) counterparts on the technical delivery with a skill set concentrated in design management of Highway projects. The individual should be conversant with the US standards like AASHTO and multiple DOT regulations with expertise in the Design and Build Environment. It is desirable that the candidate holds a Professional Engineering PE license from the USA preferably from the states of Georgia Florida or Tennessee.
As a Design Manager in the business you will play a major role in the design delivery of large highway improvement projects comprising of design 3D Modelling CAD production and estimation of quantities. The ideal candidate should have work experience as design manager and technical lead delivering Concept Design Alternative Technical Concepts and Detailed Design of Design & Build projects within USA.
The candidate needs to be able to operate in the project environment to support professional leadership at a technical level supporting the development of Arcadis capability in the discipline and building and maintaining a professional reputation as an individual and for Arcadis. The role is needed to deliver to all expectations of a project viz. quality time budget and value addition.
Role accountabilities:
- Project Delivery:
- Serve as technical lead/design manager to oversee design delivery of Design & Build State DoT projects with understanding in various tools used in NA for Roadway design 3D Modelling CAD production and quantities.
- D & B projects concept design alternative technical concepts detailed design of projects and involved in construction support.
- Leading Design Build multi-disciplinary projects for in Arcadis at Global Level including complex interdependencies of other disciplines and good communication across Lead offices and all disciplines.
- Leads design risk identification. Contributes to risk management by proactively seeking to mitigate risks with the client and the project team.
- Actively contributes to and promotes health and safety (H&S) in the projects by implementing and monitoring H&S practices and providing necessary training.
- Developing high competencies in comprehensive project reviews forecasting and resource management collaborating closely with regional leads to capture project needs timelines required skills and the number of resources needed.
- Oversee competence and quality through a robust Quality Management System ensuring the timely submission of deliverables with client satisfaction.
2. Resource Acquisition Support:
- Assist in identifying resource needs for pursuit projects and contribute to strategic resource acquisition plans.
- Support in coordinating with other departments or external partners to acquire necessary resources.
3. Knowledge Transfer Assistance:
- Support initiatives for knowledge transfer from bid team to delivery team aiding in the documentation and sharing of best practices.
- Collaborate with team leads to ensure insights from past pursuits are effectively communicated and applied.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Masters in Transportation / Highway Engineering.
- Minimum 14 years of experience in Infrastructure Design Consulting industry.
- Minimum of 6 years of working experience for International Multi-disciplinary Projects for Highway / Roadway in delivering various tasks required for Design & Build projects.
- Proficient in written communication and capable of contributing to project communications.
- Familiarity with the US construction industry.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills along with strategic decision-making.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse disciplines and support resource acquisition.
- Professional Engineer (PE License) in Georgia Florida or Tennessee is desirable.
- Cultural awareness and an open mind are essential requirements for the role.
- Role modeling Arcadis Values and Principles especially Health & Safety stewardship
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and the ability to apply the Quality Management principles while delivering large-scale US projects from the GECs.
- Ability to travel to USA few times a year to collaborate with project teams and clients
