Job Summary

The Manager Healthcare Strategy is a key driver in formulating and executing Manulife Canadas healthcare strategy. This role is centered around in-depth analysis research and the development of impactful business cases. The Manager will support various initiatives to enhance our unified health strategy across multiple business segments significantly contributing to our overall mission.

Position Responsibilities:

Strategy Development & Execution

Research and Discovery:

  • Conduct in-depth ecosystem scans to keep the organization informed about industry trends and emerging healthcare technologies ensuring our strategies are current and impactful.

Opportunity Analysis:

  • Utilize complex datasets to extract insights that guide investment decisions in health opportunity areas and initiatives.
  • Proposal and Business Case Development: Craft compelling business cases including detailed financial models to support internal initiatives and partnership engagements.

Execution and Delivery:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. marketing distribution legal) to effectively launch new health innovations aligned with our goals
  • Provide project management support for critical transformation initiatives that drive strategic objectives

National health partnerships strategy

  • Concept Ideation and Partner Engagement: Work collaboratively to ideate partnership concepts establish evaluation criteria and engage potential partners to explore collaborative opportunities.
  • Pipeline Management: Proactively manage the partnership development pipeline ensuring a dynamic flow of potential opportunities. Track and report on the progress of partnership initiatives providing insights into challenges and successes.
  • Implementation Coordination: Assist in coordinating the implementation of new partnerships ensuring comprehensive alignment with business needs and strategic objectives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Business Administration Healthcare Management or a related field.
  • Exceptional skills in PowerPoint and storytelling with the ability to create executive-level documents and presentations.
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian and global healthcare innovation landscape.
  • Excellent negotiation communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proven capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in strategy consulting ideally combining consulting experience with industry exposure

Salary range is expected to be between

$103270.00 CAD - $153270.00 CAD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge skills qualifications experience and education/training.
