Job Description:
This position is responsible for creating developing and commercializing packaging initiatives that support sustainability focused business needs for Mars Wrigley North America. This role provides technical support to troubleshoot key quality or manufacturing issues.

Minimum Requirements
BS in Packaging Science (preferred) or other engineering/science related discipline or equivalent
6 -10 Years packaging development
Up to 50% travel
Preferred Qualifications
Food/CPG and manufacturing experience
Flexible films development experience
What will be your key responsibilities
Leveraging internal and external networks
Managing deliverables of multiple projects simultaneously
Independently recommending and consulting on packaging platform solutions
Effectively communicating projects details and risk in appropriate forum to all levels of organization including vendors and customers
Leads development of fit for purpose packaging platforms that are designed to maximize desirability/feasibility/viability/sustainability.
Leads areas of sustainable technical development across NA packaging portfolio. Examples include focus on monomaterial and paper development improvement and implementation.
Develops detailed packaging specifications to ensure quality materials and best value for money on all packaging components used at our facilities co-packers and co-manufacturers.
Initiates coordinates and executes line trials at appropriate supply locations to confirm that quality attributes and performance metrics are achieved.
Work with the cross-functional cell teams to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and achieve KQAs.
Manages packaging suppliers to ensure proper execution of projects and recommends/qualifies new ones when appropriate.
Coordinates the creation of high-quality prototypes to gauge consumer desirability influence teams and support customer collaboration.
Collaborates with global Mars counterparts to spot opportunities for scale ensure sharing of best practices and coordination of key activities.
Active member of the team and supports onboarding of Associate Packaging Engineers and Packaging Engineers to Mars culture and business processes.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below however base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge skills and total compensation package for this position will include variable pay medical and dental benefits participation in 401k plan and paid time off of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
